A Legacy on the Green

Green grass stretches beneath the sun,
A game of life, and a day of fun.
With bags packed light and hearts open wide,
Family and friends walk side by side.

Dad’s been gone for twenty-five years,
We honor his memory and dry our tears;
Though he’s been missed since 2001,
Planning for the twenty-fourth Seaweed Shootout has just begun.

Look at how much our family has grown,
Through the many seeds that Dad had sown.
Babies and weddings, birthdays and more,
Mom’s here to witness and keep the score.

She loves the first Saturday in May,
Watching you socialize, golf, and play—
A missed putt here, a birdie there,
Laughter floating in the afternoon air.

In 2026, the tourney still thrives
Because of the special people in our lives.
Through bunkers of trouble and roughs so deep,
It’s your company that we always aim to keep.

It’s not just the swing or the trophy we hold,
But stories and memories are better than gold.
We look forward to greeting you and your team,
Under the light of a bright sunbeam.
